Using Homiletics in your language
Switch the app's language, pair it with a Bible in your language, and tell us when a translation looks wrong.
Homiletics is available in seven languages:
- English
- Español
- 简体中文
- 繁體中文
- Français
- Português
- Kiswahili
Change the app’s language
By default, the app follows your phone’s language. To pick a different one:
- On the home screen, tap the gear to open Settings.
- Tap App language.
- Choose a language. The app switches right away — no restart needed.
Choose Phone language to go back to following your device.
Pair it with a Bible in your language
The app language and your Bible translation are separate settings, so you can mix them however you like — for example, the app in Español with the Reina-Valera 1960, or the app in English with 和合本.
Set your Bible under Settings → Preferred Bible version. Every app language has at least one Bible you can download for offline reading. See Reading offline & choosing a Bible translation.
What changes with your language
- Everything in the app: menus, step names, help text and the walkthrough.
- Your weekly study: study names on the home screen appear in your language where available.
- Printed PDFs: headings on your printed homiletics and word studies use your language.
- Lecture transcripts: recordings are transcribed in your app language. English uses an English speech model; other languages use a multilingual model. Both run on your device.
One exception: definition suggestions in word studies come from an English dictionary, so they appear only when you’re reading an English Bible.
Found a word that looks wrong?
The translations were written with care, but we’d love your help making them better.
- Open Settings → Request help / leave feedback.
- Choose Translation issue.
- Tell us which words look wrong and what they should say. Your app language and Bible translation are included automatically.
Feedback is posted as a public issue on GitHub, so please don’t include private information.
